One of my favorite aspects of mobile performance is light shows. When I was a gigging musician, I started dabbling in lighting. I had a hard time figuring out how to control lighting and play guitar. It’s a little bit easier as a DJ to manually control a DMX light show, but it’s still tricky to juggle the responsibilities of light show technician in the mix of mix master and emcee. SoundSwitch automates everything, so when performance time comes, you can just set it and forget it.
It’s been 9 months since the last time I filmed a scripted song. I’ve added new lighting fixtures to my arsenal and I’ve wanted to incorporate them into a song. So here I present Martin Garrix – Animals. This isn’t a song I’ll drop at most parties or weddings, but with lighting that matches the intensity of the music, it will create one epic experience. The best part of this manual SoundSwitch script is that it will repeat every time every time I play the song. I filmed this in my backyard. Hopefully it didn’t upset the neighbors too much…
