ADM Productions had the wonderful opportunity of DJing and providing ceremony sound for the 244th Navy and Marine Birthday Ball, for the JRTC of University of Utah. It was located at the Park City Westgate Hotel, in the Bison Ballroom. We were able to work with Wasatch AV, they provided audio and video for a video presentation.
The Ceremony
The military doesn’t mess around when it comes to ceremony and decorum. There was a carefully crafted script, with musical cues that I followed. I got all the clips off of the Navy website, it was all band music. The venue was packed, and I’m not sure a full band would have fit, so having a DJ was ideal.
Cocktail Hour & Dinner
Between the nice tuxes and dresses, and the beautiful Park City venue, the atmosphere was very elegant, so I played some light jazz for cocktail hour and dinner to match the environment.
Dance Party
While I think having a full band for a ceremony would be cool, getting people to relax and party is where us DJs at ADM Productions really shine. We started the evening with lots of the classics & disco, to appeal to the older sailors. Then we went really modern and played the latest pop & hip-hop tracks. It was a great time, and I’m not sure who had more fun, me or the guests. I would gladly DJ for these guys and gals again.
