We had the pleasure of DJing the wedding of McKinley and Will Clapperton at McKinley’s parents airplane hangar in Alpine, Wyoming. It was a very special Aviation-themed wedding. Daryl was the DJ, and Brian was the photo booth attendant.
This wedding was truly an unique celebration. The ceremony processional started with the bridal party being taxi’d in 3 separate planes. The ceremony was in a neighbor’s private hangar.
The rest of the reception was moved to McKinley’s parents airplane hangar. These hangars basically have one wall that doubles as a giant garage door to house airplanes. The hangar door was open, and the food truck prevented the hangar door closing completely. It started to rain hard, and it was windy. Rain started getting to tables closest to the door and things had to be moved around, and the dinner service was interrupted. I dropped rain themed songs like Ironic – Alanis Morrisette which has a line: “It’s like rain on your wedding day”, and the whole hangar was singing along, making the most of it.
Many times, it can be daunting when they alot 3.5 hours for dancing, but this crowd was great. They were responsive to all genres of music and I found myself wishing that we had more time so that I could play awesome songs I knew they’d like.
